CD-ROM drive not found on HP Vectra during setup due to incorrect IRQ.
Cause:
An HP Vectra computer with a DSP sound card and a built-in Adaptec AID6x60 SCSI chip must have the sound card '/Q' switch loaded in CONFIG.SYS in order to recognize the CD-ROM drive.
Solution:
In the 'Control Panel' window, double-click the 'System' icon. Click the 'Device Manager' tab and assign an unused interrupt to the CD-ROM. Open the file Config.sys, and type /Q and the interrupt number after the phrase DEVICE=<drive>:\<path>\DSP16.SYS.
